Miriam Falzon received her Ph.D. in pharmacology from Aberdeen University (UK) in 1984 and is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and a member of the Sealy Center for Molecular Science at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She teaches in the Molecular, Cells, and Tissues course in the Medical School, and in the Endocrinogy and Principles of Drug Action courses in the Pharmacology Graduate Training Program of the Graduate School. Dr. Falzon directs research on the transcriptional regulation of the parathyroid hormone-related peptide gene. Her research is funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and the National Cancer Institute. She has authored or co-authored full scientific papers and is a member of the Member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the American Society for Microbiology.
