Yafang Zhang, BS

Yafang was born and grew up in Tianjin, China. She received her B.S. in Biological Science at Nankai University. As an undergraduate, she started her scientific career in the area of Chinese traditional medicine and hormone signaling.
Yafang joined UTMB in 2011 as a graduate student in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology graduate program. She is studying neuropharmacological research in the Center for Addiction Research (CAR). Environmental enrichment paradigm produces protective addiction phenotype in rats. Under the guidance of Dr.Tom Green, Yafang is working on the molecular mechanism of the behavioral differences in cocaine addiction between rats in enriched and isolated condition.
She enjoys exercising in the gym, watching movies and traveling with friends during vacation.
