William (Ed) Powers, MD, MS

Dr. Powers serves as Director of Clinical Preventive Medicine, informally known as the Aerospace Medicine Division. He is a board certified specialist in both Aerospace Medicine and Emergency Medicine. His interests and activities at UTMB include Associate Program Director for the Aerospace Medicine Residency and Principle Investigator for the NASA-KBR Human Health and Performance Contract. He is an FAA-designated Senior Medical Examiner, serving as an attending physician for the UTMB Aerospace Medicine Center. Dr. Powers is a retired NASA flight surgeon and an instrument rated private pilot.
