Dr. Cara Pennel, Dr. Denny Fe Agana, and Ms. Leslie Stalnaker, faculty and staff in Preventive Medicine and Population Health (PMPH) at UTMB, received funding from the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for their proposal, Pursuing Health Equity: An Online Curriculum for Interprofessional Education and Practice. Collaborators include Dr. Caley Satterfield and Ms. Aleisha Elliott with the Texas Area Health Education Center (AHEC) East and Ms. Shelley Smith with the UTMB Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice. The funding will support developing, piloting, and evaluating an interprofessional education and practice program for health professions students using a health equity framework and patient and population-based lens.
