Professionalism at UTMB Health

Dr. Olugbenga Ojo Attends Vanderbilt Course re: Professionalism

bio_ojo Dr. Olugbenga Ojo is the latest member of the UTMB Faculty to attend the Vanderbilt course entitled, Promoting Professionalis: Addressing Behaviors that Undermine a Culture of Safety, Reliability, and Accountability. "I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to attend this course. The professionalism course made me realize that cognitive change takes too long and never works, changing how people behave is the best way to change how they think. Promoting professionalism is only likely to succeed in the setting of a robust safety culture. UTMB is lucky and blessed to have committed leadership and core values in place, with the right amount of devoted resources and the essential elements to promote reliability and an increased awareness of the professional pyramid, I think we are primed and ready to have an institution where respect, safety and quintessential professionalism will be our guiding principles and woven into the fabric of who we are as an institution."
