The CPRIT-funded Computational Cancer Biology Training Program (CCBTP) (CPRIT RP170593; Program Director Dr. Monte Pettitt, UTMB) welcomes a new postdoctoral fellow who will be conducting research at the interface of computational and physical science with basic and clinical cancer biology: Willie Hsu, Pharmacology & Toxicology, UTMB, mentors Lawrence Sowers and Yuriy Fofanov, both UTMB.

Registration open: First Center for Neuroscience and Machine Learning NeuroNex Workshop, January 25
The goal of this workshop is to develop statistical and analytical tools to infer and interpret multivariate interactions from neural data. Our first workshop will introduce the problems we aim to address, the statistical and mathematical tools as well as the types of data we will use to answer them. Summer Undergraduate Fellowship in Computational Cancer Biology
The GCC’s Computational Cancer Biology Training Program is again offering a 10-week summer undergraduate program at the Texas Medical Center, funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). Rising sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduates will have the opportunity to gain a hands-on interdisciplinary outlook on the problems presented in fundamental cancer research, while interacting with current Computational Cancer Biology Training Program postdoctoral fellows, attending talks and a short course on responsible conduct of research, and participating in an end of summer multi-disciplinary judged poster session. Program dates are May 30 - August 3, 2018. US Citizens or Permanent Residents eligible. See eligibility, application and program information here. Application deadline is Friday, February 9, 2018.
