CPRIT is adding a new area of emphasis to the Individual Investigator Research Awards for Prevention and Early Detection (IIRAP) RFA. A webinar will be held on February 15, 2018 to communicate interest in receiving applications on implementation research designed to accelerate the adoption and deployment of evidence-based cancer prevention and screening interventions.

Dr. James Willson, Chief Scientific Officer will provide an overview of the IIRAP and CPRIT’s interest in implementation research and introduce Dr. Brownson. Dr. Brownson, a leading expert in implementation research and applied epidemiology will briefly describe implementation research and discuss examples of possible research opportunities; in particular, opportunities to build on the work of CPRIT Prevention Program grantees. Drs. Rebecca Garcia, Chief Prevention Officer, James Willson, Chief Scientific Officer, and Brownson will be available to answer questions.

Dr. Ross Brownson is Professor, Brown School and the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University in St. Louis.
