Laughter, the Best Medicine The 16th Annual Abundant Living Conference March 4-6, 2019

For the 16th year, Camp Allen and UTMB’s Sealy Center on Aging invite you to the Abundant Living Conference. This year's theme is, Laughter, the Best Medicine. This is a time to embrace aging as a creative journey of inner peace and to awaken new passions and purpose for iving. Learn from scholars about aging and enjoy music, art, nature walks, cooking, canoeing, fly fishing and labyrinth walks.

Speakers

James S. Goodwin, MD is the George and Cynthia Mitchell Distinguished Chair of Geriatric Medicine at UTMB and former Director of the Sealy Center on Aging.

Jean Goodwin, MD is a private practice psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UTMB.

Dorothy Linthicum is Instructor/Program Coordinator at the Center for the Ministry of Teaching at Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, VA.

Mukaila Raji, MD is Professor and Director for the Division of Geriatrics at UTMB.

John P. Schuster, MA consults, coaches and leads workshops on positive aging practices across a broad spectrum of settings.

Elena Volpi, MD, PhD is the Daisy Emery Allen Distinguished Chair in Geriatric Medicine and the Director of the Sealy Center on Aging at UTMB.

Jennifer Salazar, BS is the Senior Medicare Patrol Program Director for the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston Education Foundation.

Br. Michael Gallagher, OSB & Fr. Peter Funk, OSB are Benedictine monks of Holy Cross Monastery and on staff at the Family Retreat Center in Beaumont.

Kathy Culmer, DMin, is a storyteller, teacher, writer, and retreat leader.
