Starting a Testosterone and Exercise Program after Hip Injury (STEP-HI) is testing several strategies that may improve muscle strength, balance, walking ability, and quality of life in older women with a recent hip fracture.
Strategies being tested include
resistance exercise (with weights) and hormone therapy with topical testosterone.
You may be eligible if you are a woman aged 65 years and older with a fractured hip within the last 5 months.
