Welcome to the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine! Our mission is to advance health care and quality of life for older adults and those with serious illnesses. We promote geriatric
medical care through excellence in patient care in our clinics and the Jennie Sealy Hospital ACE Unit; innovative instruction from geriatricians and other faculty within the Department of Internal Medicine; and a strong partnership with the Sealy
Center on Aging, whose faculty and fellows conduct aging-related research. In the area of Palliative Medicine, we seek to enhance patient care primarily by focusing on quality of life and alleviating suffering and symptom burden, especially since
caring for those with advanced illness, including the dying, are essential aspects of our mission and values.
