The UTMB Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center (OAIC) is the home of a diverse multidisciplinary team of investigators with complementary research interests. The Center supports investigators, research, and expertise in gerontology to accomplish the OAIC mission: To Improve Physical Function and Independence in Older Adults.

Dr. Pappadis Named Elite Reviewer

Monique Pappadis, MEd, PhD has been named as an Elite Reviewer for the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for 2020. Elite status designation reflects the number, timeliness, and quality of reviews for the Archives in 2020 as judged by the editors. Dr. Pappadis's selection reflects critical thinking and effective participation in the process of peer review. Approximately 3 percent (67 people out of 1,926 reviewers who submitted 1,880 reviews in 2020) were given this recognition.
