Jenner Hut or Temple of Vaccinia: One of the first vaccine clinical trials occurred in May, 1796 when Edward Jenner, an English country doctor, vaccinated an 8 year old boy named James Phipps with fluid from a cowpox blister hoping to protect him from smallpox. It worked!
