SCOPE (Student Continuity of Practice Experience) is a primary care educational opportunity with an overarching purpose is to foster consistent, positive patient/provider relationships and demonstrate the rewards of primary care practice. Students will benefit from continuity of care, continuity of teaching faculty and continuity of clinical site.
As a third year SCOPE student you will be a key member of the primary care team providing for your patients and you can be involved in all aspects of their care. SCOPE is not a track in the traditional sense but is an enhanced learning experience in primary care. SCOPE will appear on student transcripts as a satisfactory/unsatisfactory, non-credit course.
SCOPE has 3 clinical tracks students can choose from. Each year the participating clinics determine how many SCOPE students they can take.
