Mission Statement: The Anesthesiology Interest Group at UTMB is a conduit for medical students seeking exciting and educational opportunities beyond the scope of the core clerkships. We are devoted to promoting education, communication, and advocacy among students interested in Anesthesiology. Our goal is to encourage interest in Anesthesiology and facilitate student's interests in various career opportunities in Anesthesiology through educational lectures, hands-on workshops, and mentorship.

Activities: The AIG will organize educational lectures presented by faculty/fellows/residents that covers the spectrum of career opportunities within Anesthesiology including cardiothoracic anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, pain medicine etc. Additionally, we will provide opportunities to students to hone hands-on skills through the intubation workshop, echocardiogram workshop, intravenous access workshop etc. We will aim to foster camaraderie and facilitate interaction with faculty and residents through informal social events.

Mission Statement: The Minimally Invasive Surgery Club seeks to educate medical students on various forms of minimally invasive surgical tools and their application in different surgical sub-specialties. The club also prepares medical students for their surgical clerkship and surgical residencies by providing opportunities in research, networking, and surgical skills training.

Activities: Meetings with guest speakers to learn about minimally invasive surgical research, specialties, and techniques. Educational events will include suturing, laparoscopic, and robotics workshops.

Mission Statement: The purpose of the Ophthalmology Student Organization (OSO) is to introduce Medical Students to the world of Ophthalmology and the basics of comprehensive ophthalmic exam. Mission Statement: The Pulmonology Interest Group aims to involve UTMB students in the field of pulmonology and its related fields such as pulmonary critical care, interventional pulmonology, thoracic surgery, lung transplant, pulmonary oncology, allergy, and sleep medicine.

Mission Statement: The Street Medicine Interest Group at UTMB aims to unite all students interested in Street Medicine to learn about best practices, resources, ideas, and research. We hope to improve and provide quality health care to people experiencing homelessness where they live through the development of a street team under the direction of physicians from UTMB clinicians.

Activities: Opportunities for research, Monthly meetings to educate students on topics surrounding street medicine, guest speakers, and providing healthcare to those experiencing homelessness.

Mission Statement: The Student Psychiatry Organization at UTMB is an interest group for students looking to find out what the field of psychiatry is about. We welcome all students who want to establish connections with practicing and future psychiatrists, give back to the community through service, and discuss the current state psychiatry is in and what the future holds with their fellow peers.

Activities: 
Meetings - Typically every other month for members to learn about the different aspects of psychiatry from various practicing psychiatrists

Community Service events - events that typically involve mental health awareness

Psych Movie Nights - mostly for recreational purposes; usually every other month, students will watch a movie along with practicing psychiatrists and break down the myths of mental health as shown by these movies

Mission Statement: Tiny Toes is an organization dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of students interested in the neonatal or pediatric fields through volunteer efforts and educational opportunities. We are an interdisciplinary organization for students who are interested in working with the neonatal or pediatric populations.

Activities: We volunteer in the NICU and PICU in John Sealy Hospital, as well as with organizations that serve families around the community.We have opportunities to hear from professionals who are doing what we hope to do, as well as network within our own disciplines with our future colleagues.
