The UTMB Student Government Association (SGA) offers a limited amount of funding each year for student organizations to travel to events pertaining to the interests of their organization as well as funding for events on the UTMB campus (TGITs).
1) All proposals for Travel funding must be completed and submitted at least one month prior to travel and no more than three months in advance. Requests will only be considered if the event that is being attended benefits the entire UTMB student population, funding will not be granted for individual poster presentations or for personal networking opportunities. Registered student organization requesting funding should also submit 1-2 paragraphs with their proposal explaining why the travel is an asset to UTMB as a whole and what will be gained by the students traveling.
2) All proposals for TGIT/Special Event funding must be completed and submitted at least one month prior to the event and no more than three months in advance. It is strongly encouraged that groups seeking TGIT funding meet with Courtney Carr in Student Life prior to submitting their request. Because TGITs are open to the entire campus and are a big undertaking, Courtney will check date availability for the event in advance as well as help with the planning process. TGIT funding requests should be as detailed as possible, the organization seeking funding will be responsible for all aspects of the event including having enough members present the day of to facilitate the event. Only student groups registered with Student Life are eligible.
