Mission Statement: The purpose of this mission is to provide students of all health professions to participate in a medical mission trip to Peru. Students have the opportunity to see their own patients in a team-oriented manner and practice writing history and physicals, medical decision making, and diagnosing patients under the supervision of an attending physician.
Activities: Hands and Feet brings UTMB volunteers every year to help run a free community clinic in Santa Rosa Baja called Iglesia Evangelica Bautista. Students/volunteers will work on a care team of 2-3 health care professionals and see patients throughout the entirety of clinic. There are a variety of stations to rotate through, including triage, medical visits, PT/OT stations, and eyeglass fitting stations.
