Mission Statement: The Kids Club is an organization for the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch, which will encourage nursing students to come together who have a calling for pediatrics! This club will be devoted to embracing students’ passion by furthering their pediatric knowledge through educational and volunteering opportunities.

Activities: We will be holding fundraising throughout the year for The Sunshine Kids of Houston and other organizations. The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization committed to providing a variety of programs and event for kids to attend who are receiving cancer treatments in and outside Houston hospital and all over the country. We will conduct fundraising events at least once a month to raise money for the different non-profit organizations like The Sunshine Kids that fuel our passion for helping others.

We will also have other "pop-up" volunteer opportunities such as VBS with local churches, partnering with Jennie Sealy Hospital for pediatric floor visits, and bringing in guest speakers to educate club members about the pediatric nursing profession.

Mission Statement: Student Nurses Association promotes and represents ethical practices pertaining to nursing; we hold the highest integrity to represent our chapter academically and professionally in order to grow into strong advocates for the health care profession.

Activities: 

1. Have direct input into standards of nursing education and influence the education process.

2. Influence health care, nursing education and practice through legislative activities as appropriate.

3. Promote and encourage participation in community affairs and activities towards improved health care and the resolution of related social issues.

4. Represent nursing students to the consumer, to institutions, and other organizations.

5. Promote and encourage students’ participation in interdisciplinary activities.

6. Promote and encourage recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities regardless of person’s race, color, creed, sex, lifestyle, national origin, age, or economic status.

7. Promote and encourage collaborative relationships with nursing and related health organizations.

Mission Statement: Tiny Toes is a NICU nursing interest group that provides guest speakers and volunteer opportunities to the members. Their mission is to help facilitate an understanding of what it means to be a NICU nurse for the members to decide if this is a field they would like to pursue upon graduation.

Activities: Volunteering at the UTMB NICU, bake sales, academic guest speakers, and volunteering with local hospitals at their preemie reunions
