Additional Sitefinity Content Management System classes scheduled

UTMB will be offering additional web development classes to support digital initiatives across the university. The next round of classes will run through April.

Two classes will offered; the classes are two- and three-hours long respectively, and are repeated on multiple dates.

The first is an Introduction to the Sitefinity Content Management System (CMS), UTMB’s primary web publishing platform. This class is for all UTMB website developers, designers, content authors and editors working in or with an interest in the Sitefinity CMS. The session is designed to help participants establish a solid foundation for their new web projects using Sitefinity, and provides important fundamentals for those working with the tool.

The introductory class offers an overview of the tool, shows the CMS dashboard and primary tools, and describes the templates, navigation and types of pages and content. It also covers preferred browsers, logging into the tool, content creation (images, content blocks, lists and news), creating pages, adding content, publishing and viewing pages, and testing the mobile qualities of pages.

The second class, the Sitefinity Intermediate Workshop, expands on these topics. It provides an overview of working with templates, explores layout options, feature boxes, image galleries, navigation options, categories and tags, advanced list options, and adding CSS. The introductory class is a prerequisite for the intermediate workshop.

The classes will be hosted in person on the Galveston Campus:
