Goals & Objectives
 During the course the student will become familiar with presentations of common emergency conditions in both the adult and pediatric populations. Students will also have the opportunity to observe medical and trauma resuscitations and understand the priority of events that need to occur in the critically ill patient.

Description of course activities
 Students will accompany a board certified emergency room physician in the Austin area during their experience that will include evaluation and management of a wide range of emergency room patients. This preceptorship will only be available in Austin. Matching will occur on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed upon submission of an application.
