For immediate release: June. 14, 2007 GALVESTON, Texas - Health education sessions for adults with diabetes are scheduled for June and July in Galveston. Each session offers a holistic approach that encourages participants to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Students from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston who are earning advanced degrees in occupational therapy will conduct the sessions, which are free and open to the public. Titled "Motivation and Empowerment for Diabetics the Occupational Way," classes are from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays June 20 and 27 and July 11 and 18. The MEDOW group sessions focus on meal preparation, routine planning, physical activity, diabetic management and life coaching. The sessions will be held at the 4Cs Clinic at the Galveston Island Community Center, 4700 Broadway.
