Dr. Bob E. Stout will be honored by the Alumni Association Friday, June 2, at a reception at the medical school, and the formal presentation of the award will be made Saturday, June 3, during the UTMB graduation program at Moody Gardens Convention Center. The fact that the award is named after Ashbel Smith makes it even more meaningful to Stout. The famous Texas hero who helped found the medical school in Galveston lived in Baytown.
