I-Team: State employee sold willed bodies for profit, but law prevents families from suing

San Antonio Express News (Internet / Print) 05/18/06 http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/metro/stories/MYSA051706.UTMB.KENS.50fdae79.html The families who fell victim to Allen Tyler say they may never find justice. Now the only road left to be traveled is the one that takes them to Austin. A change in the law and a chance to be heard before the U.S. Congress are two ways to bring some peace to the families affected. The I-Team wanted to talk with UTMB, but instead they gave us this written response: "We sincerely regret the anguish felt by the families whose loved ones willed their bodies to our program and were unable to have their remains returned." They also said the employee who was responsible was fired, but he died before he could be prosecuted. UTMB told the I-Team there are no plans to reinstate the program at this time.
