Treatment and vaccination against chicken pox and complications

KPRC-TV (NBC) Ch. 2 Houston TX (Internet / TV) 04/30/06 (no direct weblink available) Dr. Russell LaForte discussing pain medication, vaccinations, and treatment for chicken pox and complications, “Well, the pain medications don’t actually work very well, and that’s one of the biggest problems with it is it can cause delayed complications. The forefront of medicine is trying to figure out how to vaccinate people with high doses of chicken pox vaccine to prevent them from ever getting the shingles. The treatment though, for chicken pox, for shingles, to try to answer your question, is you need to treat it early and you need to go to the doctor and get a prescription for medication. And it can be triggered by stress.”
