Two lawsuits arise from bumpy elevator ride

Galveston County Daily News (Internet / Print) 05/01/06 http://news.galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=419b97567e026250 An elevator ride gone awry last year led four people to the third floor of the county courthouse, where civil lawsuits are filed. The four plaintiffs, including a corrections unit guard, are suing the University of Texas Medical Branch and the makers of the elevator they claim injured them two years ago. A UTMB spokesman said no one from the hospital could comment on the case because it was part of ongoing litigation. The hospital referred the case to the state attorney general’s office, which represents state schools and universities in litigation.
