Kempner lecture series continues on the Web

The Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund lecture series continues with a live presentation online through the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. The second lecture in the series will be presented from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13.

“Translational research: Clinical implication in project development,” is the topic of guest lecturer M. Terese Verklan, associate professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is co-director of clinical engagement in a current grant funding a center for clinical and translational sciences. Verklan, who is certified in critical care and neonatal nursing, is recognized nationally and internationally for her expertise in neonatal care.

“We are very pleased that the generosity of the Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund enables us to present the expertise of Dr. Verklan,” said Pamela G. Watson, dean of the UTMB School of Nursing. “Presenting the lecture online allows a much broader audience to participate, not only on campus, but among our many students who are working toward their degrees online.”
