Temple of learning a true island treasure

Galveston County Daily News, November 21, 2010

UTMB’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers classes for seniors 55 and older. A Galveston resident writes that membership to OLLI would make a good holiday gift. “I have been a member of OLLI for the past two years. My membership fee of $25 per year allows me to pick and choose from about 100 intellectually stimulating classes taught by professionals. There also are fun field trips and guest speaker forums from the medical branch family of doctors on topics ranging from health care, nutrition and exercise to much more. What I like about attending my class is the convenient location at the Island Community Center on Broadway.”
