Universities planning 'Mini Med School' throughout August

Houston Chronicle (Internet / Print) 07/20/06 The University of Houston-Clear Lake is partnering with the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston to offer a unique look at the medical field during the Mini Medical School 2006. It will take place Aug. 2, 9, 16 and 23, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Bayou Theater, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., on UH-Clear Lake's campus. The educational program offers informative courses designed to familiarize participants with medical terminology while providing insight into biomedical research and patient care from some of the nation's leading physicians and researchers. Courses are free and open to all students, alumni staff, faculty and others from the community. Online registration will be available until a week before the event. Participants attending all sessions will earn a Mini Medical School diploma. For more information, call 281-283-2022.
