Come celebrate for a good cause
Galveston County Daily News (Internet / Print) 07/25/06 (no weblink available) The mission of the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County is to promote the safety and well-being of women, men, children and families and to advocate for the prevention of family violence and sexual assault. In addition to a safe shelter, the agency provides non-residential support, legal assistance, education for professionals, the community and schools, intervention and support for survivors of sexual assault, and administers the local Court appointed Special Advocates program. This year, the Resource and Crisis Center Board of Directors and staff are joining hands with community leaders County Judge Jim Yarbrough, UTMB President John D. Stobo, Galveston County Sheriff Gean Leonard and Galveston County District Attorney Kurt Sistrunk for the annual Helping Hands Award. This year's theme is "Hearts Around Texas."
