Frisbee tourney a challenge for UTMB students

Galveston County Daily News (Internet / Print) 03/10/06 http://news.galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=7372c3764802538f Matt Dacfo is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Texas Medical Branch. For relief from the demands of a hectic schedule, Dacfo and several of his classmates have turned to a game played with a flying disc. “Ultimate Frisbee is a game with seven players — five guys and two girls on either side,” said Erik Ledig, captain of Team Erik. “We use a 175-gram Frisbee disc and play on a soccer field.” The UTMB intramural Ultimate Frisbee season will come to a close with the world-style Frisbee tournament this Sunday, with three teams competing for the tournament prize: a set of T-shirts. The public is invited to attend to become familiar with this nontraditional sport.
