Clifton family holding on to hope

Clifton Journal (New Jersey), May 3, 2013

When Dennis and Rosalind Benigno started the Coalition for Brain Injury Research in 2000 — more than 15 years after their son suffered a traumatic brain injury — they never imagined being responsible for donating more than $200,000 within a decade to brain injury research organizations. Most of the money goes to UTMB’s department of neuroscience and cell biology. “Right now we're working most collaboratively with Dr. Ping Wu at [UTMB],” said Benigno. “We donate to her lab where she's working on protocols to try to find ways to repair the injured brain.”
