Health Zone: UTMB offers free diabetes training for school personnel

Continuing coverage: UTMB’s department of pediatric endocrinology is hosting a training class on Thursday for school personnel on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of diabetes in students. According to a news release from UTMB: the program, “Managing Diabetes in Schools for Unlicensed Personnel,” will be held in Dickinson Independent School District’s administration building, 2218 FM 517 East. A three-hour session will be offered once in the morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. and once in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The news also appears in Guidry News.
