Dr. O.W. “Skip” Brown, associate professor of pediatrics at UTMB, has been elected chapter chairman of The Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics for a three-year term. Brown also serves as vice-chairman of clinical affairs for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch and interim Chief Medical Officer for the UTMB Health System.

Katrina Lambrecht has been appointed vice president of institutional strategic initiatives at UTMB. In this position, she will continue to provide leadership on state and federal health reform initiatives. She will also build institutional collaborations that advance UTMB’s expertise in population health and clinical integration, and that ensure financial stability with value-based reimbursement models in an environment of health reform. Prior to accepting this new role, Lambrecht served as chief of staff in the office of the UTMB president, a role that will now be occupied by Sheila Lidstone, who for four years served as chief of staff to the chief business and finance officer at UTMB. In her new position, Lidstone will manage daily operations in the president’s office, oversee special programs and events, and serve as the president’s office liaison to UTMB’s leaders, faculty and staff. She also will serve as UTMB’s principal liaison to the University of Texas System administration and Board of Regents.
