Welcome to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. Our mission is to nurture the future generation of anesthesia experts who are deeply passionate about obstetrics. Through our esteemed 12-month ACGME accredited program, we offer a rich array of resources and hands-on experience to ensure comprehensive training. Situated within a typical tertiary-care center, our hospital serves a diverse population with intricate clinical needs Approximately 5,600 obstetric anesthesia cases are performed each year – 65% of which are high-risk parturients– allowing our fellows to experience a great diversity of patient care. At UTMB, our commitment is to merge advanced medical knowledge with a compassionate approach to patient well-being, shaping well-rounded physicians.
