UTMB Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship Program

Welcome to the UTMB Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship Program

 Beth Teegarden

Thank you for your interest in the Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Established in 1995, our ACGME-accredited one-year program is dedicated to training the next generation of leaders in critical care medicine.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive and diverse educational experience that equips fellows with the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies required to excel in the management of critically ill patients. Through hands-on experience in high-acuity settings, fellows develop expertise in multidisciplinary care, advanced procedures, and evidence-based decision-making.

In addition to robust clinical training, we offer research opportunities tailored to the interests of our fellows, fostering academic growth and encouraging innovation in critical care. Our curriculum is guided by the ACGME’s core competencies and milestones, as well as the standards set forth by the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiology (SOCCA). Upon completion, our fellows are fully prepared for a successful career in critical care medicine—whether in academic, community, or hybrid practice settings. We invite you to explore what makes our program a dynamic and supportive environment for fellowship training.

Sincerely,
