Kirk Abbott, MBA, BSN, RN, CCN/M, CCHP Regional Chief Nursing Officer

Kirk Abbott earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch and a Master of Business Administration from California Coast University. He also holds a graduate certificate in Human Resource Management from the same university, along with several specialty certifications in corrections.

During his 29 years with UTMB Correctional Managed Care, he has held many leadership roles, including Nurse Manager, Nursing Program Manager, Project Development and Support Manager, District Practice Manager, Polar Operations Clinical Operations Manager, and Regional Director of Nursing. In 2018, he was selected to serve as Chief Nursing Officer.

In addition to his work at UTMB, Kirk served for eight years as a Nurse Corps Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Kirk and his wife, Sandra, live in Lumberton, Texas. They have two children, Noah and Mathew.
