Kirk Abbott, MBA, BSN, RN, CCN/M, CCHP Chief Nursing Officer, Southern Service Area, UTMB Correctional Managed Care

Kirk Abbott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch and a Master of Business Administration from Cal Coast University. He holds a graduate certificate in Human Resource Management from Cal Coast University and multiple specialty certifications in corrections.  

Throughout his 27-year tenure with UTMB Correctional Managed Care he has served in numerous management roles with the University including Nurse Manager, Nursing Program Manager, Project Development and Support Manager, District Practice Manager, Polar Ops Clinical Operations Manager, Regional Director of Nursing and was selected for his current role as Chief Nursing Officer in 2018.  In addition, Kirk served as a Navy Reserve Officer, Nurse Corps, for 8 years.

Kirk and his wife, Sandra, reside in Lumberton, Texas. They have two children, Noah and Mathew.
