During her time with the Faculty Group Practice, one of Marjorie’s key achievements was developing and managing the physician compensation plan.
In 2002, her role expanded. As both Senior Practice Manager and Physician Service Manager, she continued her financial duties while also becoming more involved in clinic operations. She helped oversee the hiring and onboarding of new physicians and clinical staff. She also evaluated clinic performance based on productivity and profitability, making recommendations to improve efficiency, increase visibility, and grow revenue.
In 2010, Marjorie became the Business Manager for UTMB’s Ambulatory Operations. In this role, she was responsible for preparing and managing the annual budget. She also analyzed trends across different specialties and made financial forecasts based on past performance.
In 2014, she was promoted to Director of Business Operations for Ambulatory Operations. Along with her previous duties, she took on more operational leadership. That year, she also helped guide the transition of UTMB’s Regional Maternal and Child Health Program to the Health System. In addition, she managed Ambulatory Purchasing and Support Services, which supports facility growth.
In 2015, Marjorie moved to Hospital Galveston, a general acute care hospital for individuals in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. She currently serves as Vice President of Inpatient Operations. In this role, she oversees both inpatient and onsite clinical operations in Galveston, as well as regional medical facilities and support services. She also leads the Correctional Managed Care utilization review and bed management team, which helps coordinate care for patients.
Outside of work, Marjorie is active in her community. She has been a member of The Junior League of Galveston County since moving to the area and served as President during the 2008–2009 year. She has also volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Ronald McDonald House, and several local Chambers of Commerce. In addition, she serves on the board of The Cisneros Foundation, which provides scholarships to high school students in underserved communities.
