Overview
Pharmacy services are provided to correctional facilities across the state including the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.  With a unique knowledge of medications, current research, and hands-on clinical experience, pharmacists develop solutions for managing pharmaceutical care and medication-related problems. A range of drug distribution and clinical services are provided.

Drug Distribution Services
Drug distribution is provided from a centralized pharmacy in Huntsville, Texas and is best described as a mail order pharmacy with next business day delivery.  The facility incorporates automated technology that allows pharmacists to perform in-depth profile review and to provide other services that support the health care staff in ensuring safe and effective use of medications.  The Pharmacy is open 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday with 24/7 on-call support.

Clinical Services
Pharmacists work directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients to ensure that the medications contribute to positive outcomes. Clinical services are provided by a team of Pharmacy Clinical Practice Specialists and are designed to improve clinical outcomes and to be cost effective. A variety of services are provided including direct patient care to high-risk patients, non-formulary consults, and P&T Committee consulting:
