Now Available: DAX Copilot Enterprise License

Carlos Clark, DO, Chief Medical Information Officer, announced on Friday, Dec. 6, that UTMB now has enterprise license for Dragon Ambient eXperience, or DAX Copilot, an AI-powered Microsoft product that helps clinicians automatically document patient encounters and improve clinical efficiency.

DAX Copilot uses ambient listening from a clinician’s mobile device to create clinical progress notes for ambulatory encounters. This tool is integrated into Epic. Providers record their clinical encounters from beginning to end, verbalizing their medical decision process using the Epic Haiku application. The system will finish and push a draft into Epic within seconds. The provider can then edit and sign their note.

This new service is available to Faculty, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and Residents in their second year and beyond, enabling them to focus more on patient care and less on documentation.

Please read the full announcement from Dr. Clark for system requirements, upcoming enhancements, and to learn how to request DAX Copilot.
