UTMB celebrated Employee Service Day this month with 1,899 employees receiving their service pins. Collectively, these recipients represented 22,540 years of service to the university and its mission. The service pins were presented in five year increments, with 50 years being the longest tenure honored at this ceremony.

UTMB also honored 578 GEM recipients, employees who were chosen by their peers for "Going the Extra Mile."
