The Strand between 11th and 13th streets is closed to east- and west-bound vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to construction in the area. Detour signs are in place to direct drivers. Construction is expected to last through mid-September.
New and expanded clinic sites
Planning is in progress for an expanded pediatrics clinic site on Galveston Island in the vicinity of 61st Street. Stay tuned for more details. UTMB is also planning a new Family Clinic in Alvin, near Home Depot and Highway 6, which will provide adult and pediatric services when it opens in Fall 2014. Texas City will see a combined clinic off Emmett Lowry in early 2015 for cardiology, urology, pediatrics, ear, nose and throat and physical/occupational therapy patients.
Construction Activity will affect Bank of Six Staff Elevators Monday, September 16 through the end of October
As part of the Concourse Project, improvements will be made to the infrastructure and finishes for the Bank of Six Staff Elevators. Three of the six elevators will be affected and will have service to the first floor only halted during this time period. During this time, all six elevators will be operable for service to all of the upper floors.
