On Sept. 5, members of the Galveston Police Department, including Chief Henry Porretto, met with Dr. Joan Richardson and UTMB Police Chief Thomas Engells at UTMB’s Children’s Hospital to donate a flat-screen television, which had been awarded to the GPD through drug investigation seizures.

Chief Porretto said this was a small token of appreciation for the important work that UTMB performs every day and that he appreciated the opportunity to give back to the community. He also noted that GPD’s relationship with UTMB Police is the best it’s been in 20 years, thanks in part to the leadership of Chief Engells. Richardson thanked Chief Porretto for the donation and said the new television will bring smiles to the children we treat.
