UTMB University Optical Center is hosting various events the week of June 14 to show how much it values UTMB employees. Employees are encouraged to visit the clinic from  8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to meet the staff, try on some of the new fashion frames and receive a gift. Refreshments will be served on Wednesday, June 16.

Employees are encouraged to enter a drawing to win a free pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. The winner, who will be announced on June 21, will be able to choose from among all Maui Jim frames in stock -  a value of up to $300.

 “We’re hosting UTMB Employee Appreciation Week because we want to thank our loyal customers and introduce new employees to our friendly, experienced staff. We offer a huge selection of frames, expertise in glasses and contact fittings, a convenient location and free parking,” said Dr. Praveena Gupta, optical center optometrist.

The optical center is located in the UTMB Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences building, 700 University Blvd. It is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
