The UTMB Health Earth Day Art Contest deadline has been extended to April 7. The contest provides a way for UTMB Health staff, students, faculty and the surrounding community to embrace conservation, recycling and sustainability.

This year's Earth Day theme is No Drought about it...Water Matters

RULES:

  • The contest is open to all
  • Design must depict ways to conserve our water resources and sustain the environment for a healthy future. Examples: Conserving water to help us through droughts, rain water harvesting, installing rain gardens, mulching plants, not watering during the heat of the day, planting native plants, using drip irrigation, not running water while brushing teeth, and fixing water leaks
  • Artwork should be submitted on an 8½ x 11 inch white sheet of paper and fill the page
  • Use no more than five colors to create the artwork; Use bright, bold colors only
  • Any media acceptable for the artwork but should lend its self to be reproduced on T-shirts and posters
  • Artwork containing promotional material (e.g., company logos, brand names) will be disqualified
  • The contest information must be attached (form below) to the back of the artwork
  • All entries become the property of UTMB Health

DEADLINE:  Entries must be submitted by Monday, April 7. The winner will be selected in April.

PRIZES:

  • The winning artwork will be displayed on the UTMB Heath campus and will appear on official UTMB Health Earth Day 2014 T-shirts, posters and other promotional items.
  • The winner of the contest will receive recognition at the 22nd Annual UTMB Health Earth Day celebration on Friday, May 2.
