Golfers enjoyed the annual Salute to Nursing Golf Tournament held at the Galveston Country Club.  The event raised $94,000 toward scholarships for UTMB's School of Nursing. The 144 golfers participating in the tournament raised more than $87,000, while more than 200 attendees at the party and silent auction that followed brought in more than $7,000.

Dr. Pamela Watson, dean of the School of Nursing and vice president of education for UTMB, hosted the event along with Julie Cantini, director of alumni and parent relations. The post-tournament event was chaired by Susan Falgout and  Maryellen LeDuc.
