UTMB Health President Dr. David L. Callender recenlty hosted a breakfast meeting of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce in the Levin Hall Faculty Dining Room. Callender welcomed Chamber President Fred D. Raschke and his organization by highlighting UTMB's accomplishments since he last met with the Chamber a year ago. He emphasized that, despite Ike-related damages, UTMB continues to represent an incredible return on investment with great opportunities to continue to expand its impact of excellence in the future.
Following Callender’s presentation, members of the group were invited to participate in a campus tour with FOAM leaders. Points of interest on the tour were the new coffee bar,
Main Street Café , and the newly opened gift shop,
Lorie's Gifts on the first floor of John Sealy Hospital; the first floor of the School of Nursing/School of Health Professions building; the Jamail Student Center and the mock patient rooms that are a part of the John Sealy Modernization Project.
