Pink Ribbons Project

The Pink Ribbons Project and the their volunteers gathered to create festive holiday wreaths – a gift to UTMB Health for women screened on the Mobile Mammography Van. Some 50 handmade wreaths were presented to the Mobile Mammography Screening team, including Dr. Morton H. Leonard Jr., breast imaging radiologist; Megan Benoit, mammographer; Alicia Weaver, driver and receptionist; and Molly Lopez, manager of the UTMB Mobile Mammography program. Women receiving breast cancer screening mammograms on the mobile van also received this holiday gift from the Pink Ribbons Project.  The organization and its volunteers provide support to UTMB Health and others committed to education and screening for early detection of breast cancer.

Hannigan’s Heroes

The oncology staff on J5C have come together to develop a non-profit group called “Hannigan’s Heroes” to keep Dr. Edward Hannigan’s legacy of caring and giving alive. Hannigan’s Heroes will host various fundraisers to assist oncology patients with food, nutritional supplements, gas vouchers and other items to optimize patients’ health. The group is selling raffle tickets until 5 p.m Dec. 30 for four gift baskets full of goodies to support the cause and will be selling t-shirts year round. If you would like to buy a raffle ticket or a t-shirt and make a difference in a patient’s life, please call x20040 for further details. Look for more info on “Hannigan’s Heroes” fundraising events throughout the year in the UTMB Daily Announcements.
