School of Nursing students attend World AIDS Day
Students attending the SON Community for Partners class worked with the AIDS Coalition of Coastal Texas (ACCT) for their clinical assignment and attended the World’s AIDS Day Memorial and Remembrance Ceremony at the ACCT in Galveston. During the ceremony Galveston Mayor Joe Jaworski presented a proclamation for recognition of World AIDS Day in Galveston.
Alice Hill receives Visionary Leader award
Alice Hill, Ph.D., program director of UTMB Health's Nursing Ph.D. Program, received the Visionary Leader Award from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing during the school’s 60th anniversary celebration. Hill is one of 60 Alabama graduates to receive this year’s award, which recognizes nursing graduates who have made significant national and international contributions to the field of nursing and health care by serving as deans and directors of nursing programs, presidents of colleges or universities, or accomplished research scientists and faculty.
