William Farmer, a UTMB heart transplant recipient, donated an organ to UTMB Health’s chapel in memory of Scott Bickel, the organ donor whose heart he received. This is the third organ Farmer has donated. The first wore out and the second was destroyed when storm surge from Hurricane Ike flooded the first floor of John Sealy Hospital. Farmer drove from his home in Corpus Christi to deliver the replacement organ to the chapel.
