The annual St. Vincent's Clinic Benefit Concert was recently held at The Grand 1894 Opera House and showcased 17 different acts, representing many UTMB departments and schools.This highly anticipated and entertaining annual fundraiser directly benefits St. Vincent’s Clinic, a UTMB student-run free clinic that serves the uninsured and underserved people of Galveston County. Staffed entirely by UTMB student volunteers and faculty, the clinic treats nearly 100 patients each week, providing them with essential health care such as routine physicals and lab work, diagnostic evaluations, pharmaceutical patient assistance and medication refills.

This year's benefit raised over $4,000 from admission and raffle ticket sales. A special gift of an additional $5,000 was donated by the medical school class of 2011 and was presented to the clinic during the concert by 2011 Class Officer, Michael Boyars. 

Graduating medical students Jill D’Souza, Miles Farr, Sophia Higareda, Greg Koch, Hilda Kriel, Christine LeBlanc, Gloria Li, Ashley McMakin, Katie McQuade, Emily Nimon, Chandler Rainey, Adam Schindler, Crystal Ugarte and Nishan Wabela served as the 2010-2011 St. Vincent’s Clinic directors. As graduating medical students, they devoted time, energy and love during their final student year at UTMB.
