UTMB Health is hosting numerous special events and programs to encourage breast health at its breast imaging locations throughout the Bay Area. Specials include free and reduced-price screening mammograms for uninsured women, a mammogram mobile van program, extended clinic hours and self-referral screening.

The Specialty Center at Victory Lakes held a Pretty in Pink Ladies' Night Out offering guests the opportunity to tour the Victory Lakes Breast Health and Imaging Center, see the latest in digital mammogram technology and meet the clinical professionals who work at the center. Guests were also offered walk-in screening mammograms, breast health education.

Several UTMB departments both on and off campus participated in breast cancer awarness actiivities including the employees at the Texas City Family Health Center who celebrated “Think Pink Day" for Lee National Denim Day with pink cupcakes, snacks and cookies.

The UTMB Cruisin' for a Cure team has raised $7,008 to date, in their support of the fight against breast cancer by participating in the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure.
